I'm Free...

To do what I want.... any old time.....(song lyrics!)

That is what I have been singing to myself since Monday, as I quit the coffee job. Yes, I quit. I have never quit a job in my life, but this one had to go. So I'm FREE!

No workouts at the gym this week, as I have once again set myself free and am off visiting family in Seattle. Now the plan is to at least walk the dog and get a climb indoors in, but no promises to myself or to you.

However, on another note, the new pants I bought 2 weeks ago, that I almost didn't buy because they were too small, I can't keep on!!!! And the jeans and shirt I have pulled out from the depth's of my closet from 3+ years ago, also, falling off!!!

And I just keep GOING.........

So the dreaded quarterly check-up came on Tuesday. I had to see the Dr.

Yes, I am VERY pleased with myself but by no means stopping now. I have Running 101 starting in a few weeks, new gym shoes to buy and more rocks to climb! Climbing on Sunday then off to Seattle for some Turkey!!

Woo HOO for me!!!!!!!!!!

If looks could kill!... Size 14 all the way!

Alright, so I know I have been losing inches, and my clothes is falling off, but there is no cash for clothes, and why should I spend cash I don't have on clothes that I know WON'T fit in two months or less.

However, my neighbor asked for some help this weekend and while we were out, we ran into a local mall. Of course, we walked by my store, what I call the "Fat Lady store" it's where I have shopped for clothes for the last 3 years straight - Lane Bryant. I said, let's see if I can find a shirt or two, noticing the 40% EVERYTHING sale. Long story short, I found 2 shirts and 2 new bra's so the falling off bra problem from August will once again be delayed.

Now for the best part, I was in the fitting room trying on dress pants.... there were 3 very large women shopping together 2 in the fitting room obviously sisters and then Mom in the comfy chair waiting outside. So I come out in a pair of dress pants asking my friend and the sales associate, are these too short? They answer yes, and we look at the size, a Petite size 16. Well, of course it was a problem, petite I NEVER have been. So they bring me others to try on. I come out wearing a 14 with an ear to ear smile.... and glowing! I slapped my own ass as I emerged.... knowing the success I have created for myself. As my friend erupts with excitement, from having seen the changes in me first hand, I get the most evil GLARES from the 3 large women. Well, they could obviously hear what size I was in and at one point I said something along the lines of, DAMN, I am going to shrink myself right out of this store! Once again, if looks could kill, then as we moved onto tops, I had to go down to the 14's as well. And again there was a comment of this is the smallest we have. Well, I guess all I can say is thank goodness I was in a public place, or else I think these 2 sisters would have tried to take me down and out. Then again, no need for concern, I am 4x stronger than both of them combined - literally! :)

So as I would reflect in the mirrors outside of the dressing room with each change and see the looks that could have killed me, instead I thought to myself, GREAT JOB! I bust my ASS 6-7 days a week and now I am the one being ENVIED. If they only knew..... and talk about feeling good!!

Now I fully realize that not many people would celebrate a size 14, however, it's been over 6 years if not 10 since I have fit into a 14.

Yeah baby.... I have done it, I am on the new life path and I'm not going back.

April 29, 2007

That's the date.... the date of the 5k, my 5k, my very first and I am going to be running 3.1 miles by then. The 2007 Cherry Creek Sneak, if you around, join me at the starting line, so far there are 3 friends joining me. (Thanks, C for the idea and support, L & A for joining me) Now, we might start together, but I expect them all to be waiting for me at the finish line.

Went and climbed tonight with the new shoes and my own chalk bag. Saved a few bucks, but wasn't exactly on. Better than the last climb, but still not 100% on. I am really feeling it in my wrists tonight. I suggested to my climbing partner that we Boulder the entire time, our next climb. She agreed.... so next Monday, no top ropes, just bouldering, to work on skills - which she is way ahead of me!

This week in the gym the lifting gloves really made a difference. I didn't have to think about my grip, just the exercise.

Gotta run.... not really right now.... :)

Running 101

Busy, busy and busier!!!! But no matter how busy, the cardio and workouts are happening. Exception on Friday I got really sick out of no where that within minutes I was going home. So Friday no workout, but Saturday, back on.... worked the AM to run some errands.... REI was the big purchases of the day. I picked up a pair of rock climbing shoes, chalk bag and chalk! Well, I had a gift certificate from my awesome trainer and decided, that I am going to keep climbing, so I NEED my own gear. No I didn't go ALL out, but I started small - and it's just right. Now I can't wait for my first climb in my own shoes, and that's Thursday.... days away!

Great cardio on Sunday and today's is starting in minutes.... also had to pick up the weight lifting gloves. Yulp, never new the silly things existed before this cRaZy phase in my life. But there are days my hands are so sweaty, I can't hold on.....

Oh yeah, used ski gear purchased and at the ski shop for a tune up as I type. First time out in 13 years will be December 15th!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you motivated yet? Just had one friend decide to run the 5K with me, anyone else? That's a starting team of 3.....

As for Running 101, I am going to do this 5K, never mind I can't run more than 3-4 minutes in a row for right now. But I just got the City Recreation Guide and there is a course called, what else but "Running 101", and I am going to go... and learn, the "right" way to run. Is there such a thing? I'll let you know. :)
