Oh my Gosh! -5.8 Baby

Wow, so tonight I was feeling the need to measure and I am glad that I did. The last time I took my measurements was 9/4 so today, there was 5.8 inches less of me!!! Overall since May MINUS 14.8 inches. WOW, but an even bigger wow, is that there was that much of me to lose and I am still going......

Wet, snowy and rainy in Denver, so today I decided cardio would be at my office gym. Got one the first treadmill, wasn't feeling it, 2nd treadmill, still wasn't feeling it, bike - nope, elliptical - still no, stair climber better..... then back to treadmill. I was sure dripping with sweat, but never got into the groove today, yet when I looked up to see if it had been 10 min's it had been 45. Not so bad, so I headed home.

I guess some days you just gotta get it done!

New Adventure

I receive a daily prayer inspriation from the website dailyword.com and today's really hit the spot!

Today's Daily Word - Sunday, October 22, 2006
New Adventure
I am "prayed up" and prepared for positive change today.
I may be stepping outside my comfort zone to begin a new adventure in life; however, my first step is to be prayed up and ready for a positive change.
I pray to be divinely guided, and I also use my imagination to set the scene for the good that I am about to experience. I see myself going about my day confident in whatever I am doing. I envision my new surroundings personalized for me with pictures and colors, people and activities that invite me to feel at home and comfortable. Most important, I affirm that the spirit of God goes before me to make my way safe and secure. There is a holy preparation going on for my new adventure. I know I will meet people who are open to supporting me and being supported by me in love and faith.
"It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8

Talk about just perfect for where I am today!

Run WHAT?

So on Tuesday when Jess said I was under 200# I didn't quite believe it, yet Wednesday when I went in and the 2 scales at the gym and at home all proved it, then it was REAL!!

So I can't believe the things I have been thinking about no less committing myself to physically this week - ie skiing a few times. But what is coming next, is just plain cRaZy!

I have been improving with my run/walk time both outdoors and on the treadmill, and I think I just want to see what I can do. So, I pretty well made this commitment yesterday to Jess at my session by telling him I THINK I want to run a 5K next spring. WHAT???????????????????? Me run???? Now if you remember or know me at all, you know that the very first thing I told my trainer or any of you for that matter is I will do anything he asks as long as he doesn't make me RUN... I hate running..... For the record I did get 8 hours of sleep last night and haven't eaten breakfast yet, so I might be delirious, but I even found myself looking up Denver 5K races coming up this spring on-line before typing this post. Now keep in mind, I am in no way saying a Marathon or the Boulder Boulder, but a 5k, it's 3.1 miles. I CAN do that!!!!!!!!!! (Alright, so as I make this commitment I have a 13 minute run/jog at 2 minute intervals mile.) Wow, I've got some work to do.

Off to rock climb today and thanks for checking in.

P.S. You might want to check in with me tomorrow to be sure I haven't been committed for exercise insanity. :)

Oh yeah, from this time last year, I am down a total of 43 pounds.... and I feel better than I have in 10+ years. :)

OK, one last thing I wanted to share with everybody, I met Duane and he is a true inspiration. If you need motivation for any reason (and I'm just not doing for you) see his recent story at: http://www.everymantri.com/raceathlete/2006/10/no_excuses.html. I also reference his blog from my relevant links: Couch Potato to Ironman! Keep it up Duane, look what you have me doing now!

This is it.....

It's all DOWNHILL from here!! Broke it!!! under 200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, so I don't quite make it count, but Jess says it does. So, I'll take it!
Get this, I went rockclimbing last night. Yulp, alone and make some new friends. And we are climbing Saturday. This is so what I need for me right now.
All in all, I am feeling better physically than I did in high school, and really attacked the rock last night. Off I go and thanks for checking in!

Not so cRaZy after all....

Well, this week was great, but not the weigh in... I've hit an official plateau and it truly sucks! But my eating has been good and grocery supply in the house good too. Now it's finding a minimum of 40 minutes for cardio... told I gotta step it up.
Here's to 40 min's min.

Look Out!

Progress just keeps coming and coming. I am actually looking forward to a weigh in at the gym. Hello? My life has so changed these past few months. But I plan my day around how to fit my workout in! Hello? Yes this is the Donna you used to know. It's to the point, that I am delaying evening dates, b/c I have to get my workouts in. Now Sat and Sun w/ the 2nd job is a little more difficult, but I'm getting them done! So, here's to the final countdown next week!

Oh yeah, did you catch the part the other day where I said I jog/run? Yeah, me of all people, but tonight we ran just over 1/2 of our walk, I had to drag the dogs home - all 3 of them. Yes I am cRaZy!

Still Going....

So, Jess the trainer had to take some time off, but I am still a cardio freak! Tonight, it was raining when I went to the back door to leash up the dogs who were hiding under the back eve to stay dry. Hence, I plugged in the tread mill. Did the jog/walk for 2/3 min intervals for 22 minutes. Not real long, but I covered 1 1/2 miles. That's OK with me. See the next time I hit the gym with Jess and weight in I am going to free and clear of the 200# club. Not just barely hovering at 199.

Later!
