A New Year and no failing resolution!
So, I think enough of the snow has passed so that I can get back outside, around town and into the rec center for my cardio today along with a chance to spend some of my Christmas Money from REI! I have been wanting a new watch, with some timing features, but feminine, so that's what I am going to go shopping for. And I might get a pair of the new toe socks as well! Wish me luck!
Running 101 starts this week, and I am going to wait until after the first session before I go to get my new running shoes, in the event the running trainer has some pointers regarding running shoes.
Below, is Today's Daily Word - Saturday, December 30, 2006 - the daily reflection I often enjoy. However today's was more fitting than ever!!
Fit and Free
Every cell of my body vibrates with health. I am whole, fit, and free.
There is a new year about to begin, and I'm ready to experience optimal health and function in it. I consider routines and practices that support my wellness, affirming that God is guiding me onto paths of health and fitness.
What I can do today is to release restricting thoughts about my physical condition or age and proclaim my freedom from any limiting ideas or behaviors. In thought and action, I take responsibility for healthful choices and the lifestyle I desire. Through nutrition, exercise, and what may appear to be routine maintenance, I flourish and thrive.
I am whole, fit, and free! Every cell of my body vibrates with health. As a radiant expression of life, I am ready to celebrate a new me.
"Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly." Isaiah 58:8
- - No restrictions on who I am to become in 2007! And all changing for me!
PS The new profile photo is my little brother and I about 2 weeks ago when he passed through town.

Literally Buried in Snow!
So as Denver has barely dug out of the Holiday Blizzard of 2006, we are getting buried again. The forecasters keep changing their minds from 7 inches to 24 inches in one day to across three days. But talk about yuk!
However, the bad weather doesn't keep me from working out! It's the rec center, home treadmill or at the gym with Jess all the way..... Running 101 starts next week - now I just need to go buy some new running only shoes. Haven't climbed in a week, as my climbing partner is out of town visiting family, but we will be back on soon.
Here's to cardio shoveling and no more gym until Tuesday! Happy New Year!

Skiing - no problem!
Yesterday was my day of skiing. I went up to A Basin with a friend who had never skied before. We started with a lesson since it had been so long for me, and we had a great day! Neither of us was cold, at times over warm and hungry, but not cold and she is already planning a family ski trip! Way to go S! Best of all no injuries for either us!
Otherwise, today I got 40 min's of solid cardio in at the rec center. Yes finally. I bought my punch card last Saturday and got in 2 1/2 miles all walking - speed. Why speed walking, well, it's better than not going at all and after skiing yesterday, well let's just say my legs really wanted the day off. Oh yeah and I was flying! Really, I was barely behind the runners and in strides flying by the walkers - it must have been the tunes on my new iPod. Thanks Jess! Yes I joined the world of digital music and am hooked!!!!!
Tomorrow it's climbing day.
Oh yeah, the best part of skiing... I borrowed all of my gear from my friend R - Thanks! But her ski pants went on, however I didn't want to split them on my first fall. So as a last resort, I dug out my stretch ski pants from HIGH SCHOOL - yes the very pants that I hadn't worn in 14 years! And wore them! Whoo Hoo - those are size 12!

No possible excuses!
So, after almost killing myself this week trying to get my outdoor cardio in with the dogs, I have gone and done it now.... I stopped by my local recreation center and paid for a 30 visit punch card. So, now I have an indoor track, slew of cardio machines, indoor weights and a pool. The only downfall, my dogs don't get their run in. Oh well, that's when I remind myself that their dogs! :)
But today, I have sore biceps. Yulp! Rigor Mortise Jess! In my arms.... unusual yes... but they sure feel solid - like never before! Skiing this coming Friday whether I am ready or not! Oh yeah, measuring on Tuesday!

Step Right Up!
That's right... today I jumped on the scale without Jess prompting me, and I just stood there, and stood there... until he decided to look at history!!! -4 MORE!!!!!!!!
That's right, I am the incredible shrinking woman!

Going and going...
So I'm back from my great week in Seattle. Where even though I was sick I was active and got 2 official cardio's in.
Since I've been back, there were a few cancellations at the gym with the trainer, but we at least got Friday's session. Yesterday, got a good cardio in then I picked up new cross trainers - I know backwards. Anyways, today it's back to climbing!
Feeling good. Didn't think the scale was moving, but I can see the clothes that I haven't worn in 3+ years getting baggy and gappy. Today jumped on the scale at home and it's still going DOWN!
It's all good!
Oh - as you can see, I updated my profile photo, while it's me in the Space Needle and it is obviously a windy day. However, my jacket.... it doesn't do a thing for me, as I can wrap it around myself entirely!! I guess it comes with the territory of being the incredible shrinking woman! :)
