2 New Problems!!

So, thanks to my new routine, I have a new problem.... now this could be a life changing problem and I will be needing lots of help.... but I am feeling this constant need to move! Yesterday, when I came home, yes I tripped heading out the back door to the dogs... But with a twisted ankle, scraped knee I had to MOVE! So, Carver, Kiya and I completed a very leisurely and short 5 block walk. Enough to satisfy my slowly stiffening muscles and to get the dogs moving.

The other problem: I can barley break 100 on my glucose levels, and that's trying! So something it working!

Tomorrow, I meet with Allison and I finished the book! However, now I have to go out and buy myself a copy. So this weekend, besides getting my cardio in every day, I have meal planning, grocery shopping and meal prep. Hope your having more fun on this holiday weekend!

Oh, One more thing.... we hit 100 hits today! Thanks for checking in, I am shocked... I never thought I'd hit 50 no less 100 in about a week! Knowing that I am being "checked in on" is really helpful! And makes me feel loved too! Thanks! :)

Rigor mortise

Alright, so I haven't posted because I haven't been home long enough to turn on the computer and have the energy in my arms to type. Yes, Tues legs, Wed arms, and the rigor mortise is beginning to set in. That's what I am calling the stiff muscles. But nothing like the first leg workout. Whew! But because I fell stepping down one step in my backyard tonight after coming home from work, today is my day off. Unintended, but my day off none the less.
Hitting the shower, and then hopefully an hour of reading before going to bed. I still have 1/2 a book to read for my meeting with Allison on Saturday.

Chop, Eat, Cut, Eat, Store, Eat

You get the idea. In case you haven't been able to find me, I have likely been standing in my kitchen cutting veggies like I never have before! But, if their not washed and ready to eat size, then they will go bad before I ever eat them.

Example: Yesterday's dinner, veggie stir-fry I spent 35 minutes washing and cutting and only 10 min's cooking. Today, came home from work and spent 1 1/2 hours in the kitchen, making tonight's dinner, and tomorrow's crock pot chicken so it is ready to be dumped in at 6am and ready to eat when I am home at 7pm.... So all in all, I am actually planning ahead, and to think my refrig is full.

Tonight, another good walk with the dogs! Tomorrow, it's back to getting my butt kicked by the trainer Jess. Remember last week we only had Tues's session as I cancelled Wed and he cancelled Fri. So expect me to be a grump by Sunday.

Time for some reading homework from Allison (Dietician) and then time for some ZZZz's...

Back to the grind....

Wow, talk about a great weekend and I still have half of Sunday. So I managed to come up with a meal plan for the next week, grocery shop - and 3/4 of the cart was ALL produce, this should be interesting, and right now I am baking myself some sweet potato chips. Yes, Donna is eating raw tomatoes (she hates and learning to like them.) This is a whole new chapter in my life that is not just about exercise and eating, but learning to eat right and fit exercise in my life for the long run. Scary and exciting at the same time.

Actually after coming home from the grocery store, I had trouble fitting all of the produce in the refrigerator, as this is the MOST food I have ever had in my refrigerator EVER! But, the highly paid experts I have brought on are saying I am not eating enough and not enough of the right foods, so we'll give it a try.

Today's exercise, hard walk with the dogs....it's not too hot, actually overcast today so we don't have to wait until the late PM.

Thanks for checking in.

Great Day

Alright since last night didn't close to well, let's just say today was great! I slept in, found some used rollerblades for $20! Drove out and picked those up. Ran a few errands, came home to work on my grocery list and meal plans after last nights meeting. Sat in the sun reading for close to an hour, fell asleep on the couch only to wake up and take the dogs out on a great power walk! Jess would be proud of the rate we kept up. Then, I decided to try the blades on and try not to break my arms... I didn't.

Tomorrow, I am getting out on a bike ride. I really needed today.

Say I also want to say thanks for checking in on me - sooner rather than later I hope to have some success posts ie inches and weight lost.

Keep coming back and don't forget to post your comments.

BUMMED!!!

I am so bummed.... I had a great first visit with Allison my wellness coach aka dietician. But then I got the phone call... Jess the personal trainer canceling our session for tomorrow.

You have no idea how bummed I am... Wed I had to cancel because of a client commitment, and then they NO SHOWED, so I cancelled for no reason.... and tomorrow, I decided to take the day off - YULP! Write this date down. With no notice I took tomorrow off, just because I needed it, haven't had a day off since April and won't take another until late August. So taking the day off, of course you would expect me to blow off my trainer and take the entire day off, instead, I was planning my day off around our 4pm session - only for him to call and cancel. Talk about letting me down.

So, what am I going to do? I have no idea, I'll work on that tomorrow.

The Wrath of the Personal Trainer....

The hardest part today's session: I told Jess that with all of the arm work he made me do on Friday, they never hurt. Boy, am I going to hate myself after this coming Friday!

Session 2 down and I am already feeling it, which means, if I am lucky, I will be able to walk tomorrow. Funny, I am actually paying someone to cause me direct physical pain. Have I lost my mind?

I know, I ask now, but in another 8 weeks, I am going to so happy that I will "want" that hurt back. Really?

I meet with my dietician on Thursday. That's when this will really get tough, and I mean beyond the physical discomfort.

Feeling Friday

Alright, so I was feeling great both Friday and a little achey in the upper abs on Saturday. But Sunday.. well it was difficult to get up today. Talk about all of the ab muscles sore and not wanting to move... the arms are fine, the abs are another story.

My Buddy, Baby and I

Session 1 - Down!

So I completed my first real session with Jess yesterday, one full hour. Arms... they were tired, but I barely hurt today. Compared to Tues, Wed and Thurs of this week after 1/2 hour of legs on Monday. This is good! I know I made the right decision for me.

I also have the One Touch Ultrasmart Glucometer coming from my health insurance, it will track not only my glucose levels but my exercise, meals, and medical information.

I am going to do this!

How it all began...

Ok, so I haven't been able to see very well for the last 2 years for sure, and the eye doctor just hates working with me because I am completely inconsistent with my answers. So, after 3 visits in 6 weeks, he said I had to go see my regular dr and get tested for Diabetes.

Knowing full well, what this meant I went. Now my fasting AC1 did not show that I was diabetic, but as close as can be. My AC1 in May, 2005 was 5.8!

The dr's office didn't feel this was a problem and stated I was only pre-diabetic and I didn't need to know or do anything else. But, oh yeah, here is a prescription from the Dr. Huh? This wasn't acceptable to me.

So I have spent the past four weeks researching type 2, personal trainers, dieticians, insurance coverage, and asking myself some hard questions.

My conclusions were that I was not going to do nothing, but attack this as aggessively as possible determined not to become a type 2 diabetic, as they would only complicate my already messy life.

Action plan: Hire a personal trainer to kick my ass in gear, work with a registered dietician and continue my homeopathic treatments with my accupunturist, chiropractor and aromatherapist as needed. Yet also maintain my current treatment and diet restrictions for my migraine headaches.
