Slowly coming back

So, today I made it back to work, and wow.... was I truly incoherent for 99% of the work day on Thursday. Oh well, at least I got a few great laughs today.

So no workouts Thurs or Fri, Sat, the dogs and I went for time not speed, Sunday I did a variety of things around the house and pooped myself out, so today we were back on track for a walk. Once again for time not speed. I am tired... and going to bed NOW!

Officially Sick

But quite literally, after the Fed Ex guy and my building manager both commented yesterday on how shitty I looked - I made it through the heart of my days meetings. But today started at the Dr's office and I was told that it started viral and has now become a sinus infection.

So, no workout yesterday or today. There is always tomorrow or the day after.

MINUS FOUR

This week's magic number... minus four.... yep!! Yoo HOOoooooooooooooooooo

Quick summary, 5 weeks minus 12 pounds and a total of 4 inches!

Gosh, I think the last time I could say MINUS when referring to myself was in college.

Yeah for me, party anyone?

Even Crazier!!!

So I must be getting stronger, because I am just crazy once I walk in the gym.

Tonight, I walked in, jumped on the treadmill and once again... it wasn't fast enough... so I had to speed it up beyond last week's speed!

Then it was being pushed to new limits by the trainer. Just when I thought we were done working legs, he'd through something new at me. But I kept going and going and going!!

Now if I don't sleep great tonight, then I don't know what else I need to do, as I raced home from work, mowed my backyard to beat the rain (note I let it grow for the past 2 weeks) and then bolted off to the gym to be pushed beyond.....

I am so doing this, that I almost don't recognize my reflection in the mirror, as my clothes is hanging on me soooo differently.

For the record, I think I deserve an extra discount from the trainer, as I know I pump him up more and more with each session!!!!

cRaZy!

First of all please let me say I Love you Guys!! I had 36 hits today alone!!! Amazing...

But so crazy, I have become a mad woman yesterday and today at the gym. I don't get it... I asked my trainer what was wrong with me b/c I am so cRaZy and so today everytime I was going beyond he would say, "what's wrong with you? " and I'd laugh while trying to keep focus!

So no, no 100 crunches today, but a new crunch that KILLED!!!! Until tomorrow and thanks for checking in. You keep me going!!!

Woo HOO!!!!

Yeah for me, weigh in and DOWN 5#!!!!! Since last week. So I am functioning off of very little sleep as I have been busy and it's been just darn hot... walked into the gym today for the first time just not focused, jumped on the treadmill for the warm up and it just wasn't fast enough. Huh??? Yes, I said it just wasn't fast enough, so I kicked it up and kicked it up and kicked it up. Before I knew it I had done a mile in the time I normally complete 1/2 mile....

Then stretched and started my workout with Jess. So I was focused and ready for work my arms, nope, Jess is always full of surprises and he worked legs and arms.... Not full legs, but Wow, I amazed myself and then.. after he raised all of my weights and rep's he points to the floor, meaning we are finishing with crunches, and I start to think please not the 3 S's.... and he say 100 crunches. I laughed and said is that all!!!!

Something is certainly wrong with me.....

Whew

Feeling yesterday, but nothing like I was 3 weeks ago... but good day...
Took my 2 and the neighbors pit bull for our walk tonight. All the dogs did GREAT, but wow, talk about a reaction when you are with a pit bull!! Then I realized half of my walk is through Denver, so I had to make a quick turn or else I could have been in trouble as Pits are illegal in Denver! Tomorrow it's hitting the gym....

No Mercy!

So remember when you were 15 in drivers ed and the teacher and your parents telling you "two hands on the wheel" at all times. Well, today Jess worked my chest, biceps and triceps so hard, that I had to drive with both hands one on top of the other at 12. Then you would think I was driving a car without power steering when I had to turn the wheel to pull into my driveway.

Right now the arms, wrists and hands are literally sitting on the keyboard. I came home to do dishes and forget it!! Showered and couldn't dry myself off very easily as it took everything I had....

But... I am doing this!! What are you doing for you today?

Doing This!

So, in case there was any question... I am doing this! Coming home from work feeling exhausted, but knowing I had my 6pm workout with Jess. Of course I went! And crazy thing, once I got the treadmill turned on I was pumped. And worked!!

Today we took measurements, tomorrow weight in.

MOTIVATED

Well, I'll admit it, the motivation finally came last night, but then it was 8:45 p.m. and time for bed within an hour. So, let me hear it... because I did not get my cardio in. But hey, there is a first for everything. Or at least that is what they say.

But today... instead of the 20-30 minutes it was a solid 35 and we extended the distance. I had both Carver and Kiya dragging at the half way point. Once again, we were able to skip the rainy part of the walk, but it's humid and after living here for 4 years, I can't tolerate it like I used too.

So... today good cardio, tomorrow it's back to the gym where Jess will kick my legs!

Motivation

So I have lost count of how many days we have had pretty much non stop rain. But I did leash up the dogs and got my walk in yesterday and we MISSED the rain!! Today, is another story. But I have run all my laundry, cooked a turkey dinner for one and completed 2 veggie dishes that are made and ready to be re-heated for quick weeknight meals.

But.. I still have to get my cardio in. So, I am thinking it's time to remove the clean laundry that's hanging on the treadmill bar and then move to the inside exercise machine.

But.. I'll keep thinking about it for now...I have a few hours....

The Choices We Make

Once upon a time there was a rich King who had four wives.

He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best. He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another. He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times. The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her !

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and wondered, "I now have four wives with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone." Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!", replied the 4th wife, and she walked away without another word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart. The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!", replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to remarry!" His heart sank and turned cold. He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!", replied the 2nd wife. " At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave". Her answer struck him like a bolt of lightning, and the King was devastated. Then a voice called out: "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The King looked up, and there was his first wife. She was very skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In truth, we all have the 4 wives in our lives:
Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die. Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others. Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave. And our 1st wife is our Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go. Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of us that will follow us to the throne of God and continue with us throughout Eternity.

What to believe....

All good days have gone by even though I haven't posted. Daily cardio was happening over the holiday weekend. From walks in the heat to the pouring rain. Funny thing in my neighborhood, the dogs and I walk the same route EVERY day at pretty much the same time each day and no one says a word! But walk in the pouring rain and suddenly these people sitting on their dry front porches feel the need to yell at you on the rainy day of all days... Oh well, I guess maybe they'll get used to us.

So... a full 2 weeks in and I am really noticing my strength! From being able to job a little longer before stopping to walk, to taking a few flights of stairs and not being winded, to the muscle rigor mortise disappearing! BUT the workout burn is getting stronger.... Jess tells me that that is good....

But for what to believe? I said that my stats were going to be posted, however I haven't because I have been waiting for the official gym weigh-in and use the trainers scale as my bible. BUT... According to my home scale I have dropped 5# the first week and 4# the following week (yes I'm only weighing 1x week). But the trainers scale only showed about 2#'s lost. Now GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
