Week 1

So I am finally feeling somewhat better this week, that I got in 3 workouts in 2 sessions. Yes, only 2 but it's a start. Part of my excuse to not get more in is that I can't find the time to get the TV and DVD player to myself with all of the family home. So, to avoid future excuses, I bought another DVD player for our home yesterday. Got it hooked up! Now I have 2 places to choose from to workout and can't claim family as an excuse.
Earlier in the week I tried a workout and was really pleased with how well I was able to keep up and do the great majority of the moves. Now last night, I did one workout that turned out to be only 10 mins, so ready to go I popped in the next one. That was where I went wrong. The 2nd work out was much harder and I didn't sleep well, as I am hurting everywhere. I know that's a good sign. So, my plan is besides holding my own Superbowl laundry session while everyone else is pigging out during one of the largest junk food days of the year, I also plan to re-attack the work out I quit 3/4 of the way through last night. With ibuprofen of course.

Time to get back on the wagon!

So NO MORE EXCUSES. I am just about where I was when I started this life long transition and have gained it all back. Somehow always managing to find an excuse for not making my "me" time to take care of myself.

I am trying to decide what I am going to commit myself to for the next 12 months and track my progress. Seriously considering an infomercial product.

Any suggestions?

Easier and Easier

So I'm still going... but not blogging as often. Thanks for checking. So I am getting to the gym at least 4 days a week - and I am LOVING my running. It is just only getting easier. Unlike other exercises, ie push ups and bicycles. But I'm still going. Now my run/walks involve two big dogs and 2 kids. Haven't climbed in weeks, as I haven't heard from the climbing partner since I moved. Keep going!

Oh yeah, less than 4 months to my wedding.

On the diabetes front. I was referred to a specialist who ordered an obscene amount of blood work. I spent 5 hours last Friday at the local lab and the local hospital where I had to be admitted for more labs. But 5 hours later, 5 wholes in my body, over 25 vials of blood and drinking yucky stuff I am told I am done for now. But this testing will tell me if just because my A1C is down, if I am really doing as GREAT as it appears I am. I'd rather know now.

Still Going!

So the shrinking isn't quite shrinking. But I am shifting and changing still! I am slowly finding my new rhythm getting 3 days in at the gym with 1-2 more cardio days on top of of the gym days cardio.

I downloaded a new running program to my iPod and so far the first week is getting easier and easier. Now I just have to do this for something like 6 wks. But it's titled something like From Couch Potato to 5K in 6 wks. So I will let you know. If I can find my routine I can commit to a new 5K.

Most importantly, the exercise is on, eating is pretty much on (give me a break I have 3 new instant household members who eat CRAP), and I am at least maintaining if not losing more pounds!

It's late and I've worked 2 jobs today so I am signing off. Thanks for checking in!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the best part.... I am doing great with weights on my own. No, I am certainly not challenging myself like Jess did, and I don't have him to spot me when he "jacked" up my weights, but I am getting it done. And quite well I might add. Overall, I never cease to amaze myself with how well I am coming up with exercises, alternating muscle groups etc. Then again there is always room for improvement too!

Getting it Done!

Gym Membership - Done
Weights at the Gym - Done
Cardio at the Gym - Done

I guess that's better than just getting the membership!
Slowly finding a routine to the new schedule.
